I am busy decorating for Christmas. I have NEVER put up Christmas before Thanksgiving is over. Really missing my Son who always helped carry up the tubs! Hubby and I had to do it this year. Lucas and Fiance' Allie will be here after Thanksgiving. A friend is hosting a couples wedding shower Sat. Will have them help decorate the Christmas tree before they go. Soon they will have their own tree to decorate.

December is going to be a whirlwind month. Lucas is Graduating from Truman State Dec17th, his 22nd Birthday Dec 18th. Trip to Kirksville Mo that weekend for lots of festivities $$$$$. Then Christmas, and wedding in Harrisonville MO 12/31/11.

January I hope to sleep!!!!!!

I participated in a small craft show where I work. I did well , sold 75% of my items. Had several women interested in the art of wool applique.I shared some ideas and how to with them. My husband and I went on a week long vacation at my parents summer trailer in Lake city MN. We had a nice restful week of fishing and stitching. I do not enjoy fishing so I do stitching in the boat while my husband fishes. We both have a good time that way. 2 weeks before I start cutting out patterns to take.

I have been put on no stitching by the Dr. 2 weeks now, no stitching driving me crazy! They think I had something under the nail which grew some scar tissue. They cauterized it, still hurting. Will have it checked again next week. I did have to sneek a dish towel in for a bridal shower. I will cut some patterns this weekend. But so hard to have cut patterns and not stitch. The old saying sticks out like a sore thumb is so true.

Wine Glass Luminary Tutorial

My Son is getting married New Year's Eve. I was asked if I would like to make the centerpiece decorations. Well being the crafty person I am, I went in search of the perfect idea. Many hours of internet sufing. There it was, something different. Wine glass luminaries.

Silver Vellum scrapbooking paper with pattern.

Cuttout pattern with decorative edge scissors

I put little tiny dots on pattern so I knew where to punch. I copied the patterns on my printer.

Punched along the edge.

Roller tape used along one edge, shade is made.

I put battery tea light and shimmering diamonds in the glass,

I used personalized ribbon and a little charm that says to Love & Cherish. I hot glued these on.

I plan on putting some pretty candies on this! These look so nice in a dark room.

This is the wool/Lucas'/Guest room. This was Lucas' childhood room , you can see the graduation photo collages. It has evolved into the WOOL ROOM. I enjoy collecting all colors of wool. Lucas says everytime he comes home there is more!

My best friend and wooling buddy Kim Benskin and I went on wooling run. The Woolen Needle in Williamsburg, IA We live about an 1 1/2 hours from here. We try to make this trip as money allows! This store was featured in the Quilt Sampler Fall/Winter 2010 edition. Can you EVER have enough wool.

Lucas' New apartment

My son has been living in a yucky basement in the TKE Fraternity for 2 years. We helped him move 1 block to his first apartment. He has 1 semester of college left and then will have a degree in business. He will be getting married New Years Eve 2011. His wife Allie will then join him there. She has a year left to get a major in chemistry. Allie has plans to get her Masters and maybe a Doctorate in Chemistry. They are currently going to Truman State in MO. Who knows where their lives will take them from here.
